How area scaling works

If every side length is multiplied by a factor kk, the area is multiplied by k2k^2.

That square relationship is why a modest change in length can create a much larger change in surface coverage.

Quick example

Starting from 5050 square units with scale factor 1.51.5, the new area is 50imes1.52=112.550 imes 1.5^2 = 112.5.

Use this when resizing plans, diagrams, or geometry models.
