Understanding Cosecant (csc)
Cosecant is a trigonometric function that is the reciprocal of the sine function. In a right-angled triangle, the cosecant of an angle is the ratio of the length of the hypotenuse to the length of the side opposite to the angle.
Formula:
csc(θ) = 1 sin(θ)
The cosecant function, like sine, is periodic with a period of 360° or 2π radians. It's undefined when the sine of the angle is zero, which occurs at multiples of 180° or π radians. This calculator helps you easily compute the cosecant for any given angle in degrees or radians and provides a visual representation on the unit circle to enhance your understanding.
