Understanding Quartiles
Quartiles are values that divide your data into four equal parts. Q1 (First Quartile) is the median of the lower half of the data, representing the 25th percentile. Q2 (Second Quartile) is the median of the entire dataset, representing the 50th percentile. Q3 (Third Quartile) is the median of the upper half of the data, representing the 75th percentile. They are used to understand the spread and central tendency of a dataset, especially when data is not normally distributed. This calculator helps you quickly find these values from a set of numbers.
- Q1: 25% of the data falls below this value.
- Q2 (Median): 50% of the data falls below this value.
- Q3: 75% of the data falls below this value.
