What is Orthographic Projection?
Orthographic projection is a means of representing a three-dimensional object in two dimensions. It is a parallel projection, where all the projection lines are orthogonal to the projection plane. In simpler terms, it's like viewing an object from an infinite distance, so there's no perspective, and parallel lines remain parallel.
This type of projection is commonly used in engineering and technical drawings because it preserves measurements and shapes accurately. For example, in architecture, orthographic projections are used to create blueprints, showing top, front, and side views of a building.
To use this tool, input the 3D coordinates of your object and the normal vector of the plane onto which you want to project. The tool will then calculate and display the 2D projection, along with a visual representation on the canvas.
