About Odds Ratio

The odds ratio (OR) is a measure of association between an exposure and an outcome. It represents the ratio of the odds of an event occurring in one group to the odds of it occurring in another group. An OR of 1 indicates no association, OR greater than 1 suggests a positive association (increased odds of outcome with exposure), and OR less than 1 suggests a negative association (decreased odds of outcome with exposure). It's widely used in case-control studies and cross-sectional studies to infer associations, particularly in fields like epidemiology and social sciences.
