Understanding Right Triangle Angles
A right triangle is a triangle with one angle exactly 90 degrees, known as the right angle. The side opposite the right angle is the hypotenuse (c), and the other two sides are legs (a and b). The sum of the angles in any triangle is always 180 degrees. In a right triangle, if one angle is 90°, the sum of the other two acute angles must be 90°.
This calculator helps you find the measures of the two acute angles (∠A and ∠B) if you know the lengths of at least two sides of a right triangle. It uses trigonometric relationships and the Pythagorean theorem to perform these calculations. You can input the lengths of sides a, b, and c to find the angles in both degrees and radians.
- Side a: Leg opposite to angle A.
- Side b: Leg adjacent to angle A.
- Side c: Hypotenuse, opposite to the right angle.
- Angle A (∠A): Angle opposite to side a.
- Angle B (∠B): Angle adjacent to side a and opposite to side b.
- Angle C (∠C): Right angle (90°).
